Thailand barroom brawl, cooking class, and babysitting at a single mother's home
This shrine outside of 7/11 near where I live in Chiang Mai is unusual (at least to me) in the fact that people come and leave food and water for the "spirits" I believe. I guess the spirits here like donuts because that was what was left...
Got into a little fight with this Finnish guy at a bar. Long story short, he started the fight, then I punched him twice in the face and he hit the ground. Somewhere in there, I cut my knee bad and had to get 5 stitches.
After the fight, security grabbed the guy and tossed him out, but didn't touch me because I didn't start it and they like me there.
I couldn't feel any pain because of all the adrenaline after the fight. I promise I do not condone fighting, and I never start fights, but if you ever try to f with me I will finish a fight I promise...
The markets in Chiang Mai are everywhere and they constantly have the freshest veggies!
Thailand has a lot of vegetables and spices that we cannot get in the United States...
We bought fresh ingredients from the market for our Thai cooking class. I learned how to make super yummy Tom Yung Koon, spring rolls, Pad Thai and green curry... Can't wait to make it for my family when I get home!
Mae was the teacher for our cooking class and she was amazing! She taught us that the most important part of Thai cooking is to balance out all of the flavors between saltyness, spicyness, sweetness, and sourness.
I volunteered to be the assistant for making the inside of the spring rolls. This French guy was a good chef for stir fry!
Tessa and Janna playing with a few of the kids at the single mother's home Wildflowers in Chiang Mai.
This little girl loved her walker and it made sounds like a real race car!
This girl was playing with some puzzle pieces that I helped her paint and create!
We were playing catch with these sticky gloves and balls! They actually had good arms and could throw it across the room!

Finally, after about 30 minutes of reading stories and back-rubbing, we got the kids to take a nap...

Thanks Country. I appreciate the support... It is pretty much totally healed but I still don't have some feeling around the wound. I have never heard of masaman curry but I will keep an eye out. Keep it real...
